“The absence of iodine in the human body is a promoter of cancer.”
At the recommendation of a family member, I pick up Lynne Farrow’s book The Iodine Crisis. Farrow is a journalist who was diagnosed at one point with breast cancer, which led her down a path of study and research for her options regarding treatment and healing. In her search for information, she had a fortuitous meeting with Dr. Sherri Tenpenny at a conference. It was here that Dr. Tenpenny encouraged Farrow to look into iodine. This mention caused Farrow to find Dr. David Brownstein and others in their research and application of iodine.
Today, when we think of iodine we think of iodized salt and a first aid applicant. However, that is not truly what is used and discussed in this book. In a journalistic view and style, Farrow shares her learning and discovery about iodine’s centuries old use and the biological necessity of iodine. Through her conveyed research and first-hand testimonials, Farrow successfully supports her claim that we are in fact in an iodine crisis.
Furthermore, Farrow makes it very clear that her work is not medical advice but a journalistic uncovering and report. Consider her a whistleblower of sorts. Readers are encouraged to share the information with their personal doctors and to work with their practitioners to create their own monitored iodine supplementation plan, if that is in fact right for them.
There is a wealth of insight and information in this book, and I would highly encourage anyone health conscious and/or suffering from a breast cancer diagnosis or other chronic health concern to consider reading this book. There is certainly nothing lost in the time and energy spent to learn about something that could improve your health and quality of life.
